September sure blasted by for me. Admittedly, there was a lot of chaos in this house. For one, I left my job…finally. It was a painful choice because I seriously loved working with everyone, but at the same time, it was clearly necessary. No one should be having panic attacks over going to work. For two, there’s a bit of transitioning going on in my house as far as relationships and what our future as a family might look like. Between those two things, well, I’ve been a bit absent. I apologize for that.
Plus side to me not working right now, though: I can crank up the heat when it comes to getting this blog going! To that end, I figured I should actually write out my goals post for the month. So, without further ado…
September’s Goal Review
Last month I made the goal of focusing inward and working on more self-care. I wanted to make sure I built in downtime for me and pushed to take quiet time I needed. I also really wanted to push myself to work on some of my hobbies again. It’s a sad truth that one of the first things I shove aside when I’m depressed is my own favorite pastimes. And, of course, hobbies and other things that bring you joy are things you really should focus on during the hard times.
So, how did I do?
Well….not as well as I could have hoped, but well enough that I got through a really difficult month. The hobbies really didn’t happen, although I did push myself a little to try a couple new shows. I had intended to play video games or actually craft a bit, but oh well.
Sometimes you meet your goal. Sometimes you don’t.
Looking Ahead to October’s Goal
This month is going to be full of transitions again, still, so it makes sense for me to work on things that can help that transition. To start with, I think I’m going to keep focusing on self-care. Obviously, video games haven’t really succeeded, but I’m going to look at other methods of caring for myself. Maybe, a book? We’ll see.
I also want to really kick this blog up a notch. I’m going to have a lot more free time in my days, and there’s no reason not to use it here! So, at least one post a week. Also, more presence on my facebook page. So….at least one post a week?
We’ll see how it goes.
Okay, your turn!
It’s time for you to set your goal now! Tell us how your last one went, and let us know what your plan is for October.
